The idea of Information Technology Institute was conceived by the Governor of Balochistan. The scheme for establishing IT Institute at Loralai was approved in PSDP 2003-04. The Government of Balochistan has established Balochistan Institute of Information Technology and Management Science Loralai through Ordinance of 2002, afterword confirmed by the Balochistan Provincial Assembly as Act - 1 of 2008, passed in July 2008.

The Institute is offering at present 3-years Diploma of Associate Engineering Degree Course. Courses are based on Annual system. BIITMS have arranged and also have plans for having Training workshops / session for Capacity building during the Winter vacations. The duration of such courses would be 08-10-weeks.
The institute also confirmed its affiliation with Balochistan Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BBISE) Quetta for holding the examinations of three years Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) courses.

• The programmers of  Institute of Information Technology and Management Sciences, Lorlai are designed so that every activity enhance students learning, individual development, ability to think and problem solving approach.

• The Institute of Information Technology and Management Sciences, Lorlai would devise strategy to encourage students to develop a sense of creativity, independent critical analysis and research techniques.  

The institute and power to lay down policies of the institute shall vest in board of Governors consisting of the following members, namely :-
